Owning a yacht was never a part of my dreams, and I had zero experience in sailing. My story begins with a thwarted mortgage application, setting me on a path toward alternative living. The UK is currently grappling with a housing crisis, where affordability becomes increasingly challenging each year due to rising interest rates and soaring property prices. The shortage of housing in the UK is exacerbated by overregulation and the constant influx of cash from institutional and overseas investors, driving up demand while supply remains limited. Surprisingly, only 3% of the UK is developed.

As someone who didn't qualify for a mortgage, I want to share the story of how I came to own this ideal and affordable liveaboard sailboat.
